Conversations You've Had A Million Times
VERY FUNNY ISH."Um, I'm not very religious...but I think the meaning of life is JUST TO LIVE."
Foreign accents are so forgiving. I doubt I could ever stay angry at a British boy.

in the air
Spinning: Lionel Richie - Greatest HitsMood: Vicariously happy.
Summer. Weddings. A whole lotta. They are killing my budget (!), but who ever said love is cheap? One of my beloveds, JCHO, is getting hitched in August at The Getty Museum, so that is one wedding that I am definitely looking forward to. Whoa, I think my wedding fatigue may be fading. Wait, I just checked my bank balance, and nope, I was wrong.
Here is the bride to be! Piggy-faced smooches.

WHICH ONE IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER?

doctors rock
Spinning: Hilltop Hoods -- Australian hip hop pioneers. Love the funny accents!Mood: Jetlagged. Trip back from Melbourne to the states took 20 hours. Blah.
Hello. I have been terrible about keeping up with this blog I know. Lots of bloggable stuff has happened, so I hope to be more diligent about commentary. If not for reminiscence, then at least for therapy.
Let's see where to begin...oh some milestones:
Last weekend, I attended my sister Cindy and cousin Jeffrey's medical school graduation at the Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California (Go USC Trojans!). Weather was gorge, really made me miss living in southern California.
[A lil' digression: There, I met some v. pretty future orthopedic surgeons. I swear, being ridiculously good-looking must be a prereq for residency in that field. At the interview, instead of asking "Are you AOA (alpha omega alpha)?" They're asked "Are you super freak-of-nature HOT?" Ok, digression over.]
All hail, my sister the SURGEON!
My parents are soooo happy because that means no more tuition. YAY!
To celebrate Cindy's graduation, my family went to Australia which I will blog about later.
...and now to my cousin Jeff and new cousin-in-law Amy. CONGRATULATIONS on marriage and graduation! See their fairy tale love story HERE.
Three doctors in the family! Am super proud of them because medical school is no joke. Okie, more blogging later. Jetlag is still bothering me. If anyone knows a miracle cure for jetlag, please contact me. Will post pics from Australia in a few.

connundrum
HAVE YOU SEEN THE LINE UP AT COACHELLA THIS YEAR? OMFG.See it HERE.
Manu Chao, PVD, Air, Tiesto, Roots, Felix da Housecat...once again, OMFG.
As my sweet ex-boyfriend describes: "It's OFF THE FREAKING MEAT RACK!"
So the good news is that I'll actually be in SoCal but here's the salt rub -- I am committed to attend cousin's wedding. At the Richard M. Nixon Memorial Library in Yorba Linda, ewww. I think I should object based on venue. I have serious concerns about getting married at a museum/library dedicated to a crook.
Oh, I SOOOO WANT TO GO TO COACHELLA.

ambivalence
spinning: ROBIN THICKE. YUM.mood: relieved.
Tonight I realized that I have a love hate relationship wtih my blackberry.
Sometimes it saves me and I want to kiss it or lick the screen.
Other times, I would like to hurl it into a thick wall of brick just so I can see the pieces form Pollock like art.
That is all.

the noise
Spinning: Classical, the Greats.Mood: Like dancing.

Michelle and I caught tap dancing phenomenon SAVION GLOVER last night. And now my jaw hurts because it spent most of the night on the floor. Saw him almost ten years ago when he did Bring in 'Da Noise Bring in Da Funk. Now, he taps avec a classical ensemble that played Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, etc. The energy was so captivating that after the show, I felt like doing pirouhettes til I drop.
Go see him.

"Sweet Dreams"? is about the strength that arises from facing our fears "head on". The wedding gown brings relationships into focus and its blossoming spread signifies the opening up to life that occurs when we water and give light to those relationships. Keeping life simple gives us the flexibility to travel light at a moment's notice, to adjust as a situation dictates change, as represented by the ready suitcase. The butterfly, the symbol of change, is always moving toward the light, signifying the natural progression of spiritual evolution which comes only after we free ourselves from the bindings of co-dependence and the material world.
